Finalist - Local Business Awards

We were excited to be a finalist in the 'Local Business Awards' in August 2026.

It's the first time the awards have been held in Cairns so it's exciting to be part of it's inaugural ceremony. The awards themselves have been operating around Australia for 40 years so it's wonderful that it's finally including Cairns businesses.

Although there was no specific category for 'Food Truck's' we were in the 'takeaway/fast food catergory'. The Irish/Chinese inspired takeaway 'Shamwok' was the winner. We hadn't heard of them before but are now looking forward to trying their food.

We do have some mid week dates still available for private events. However we are closed from Thursday 24th Deceber 2026 until the 10th January 2027.

Looking Forward - 2027

It looks like next year to set to be another busy one with weddings and private events.

We will of course still be at our favourite distilleries during the year for public events and our local markets at Holloways Beach.

Local Distilleries

Narrow tracks Gin distilling

This is one of our favorite locations to have our food truck. They are a small batch craft gin and moonshine creators that use local tropical fruits and Australian botanicals.

They are a family owned and run small business that prides itself on delivering a unique customer experience. They also have a cellar door which is perfect for gifts for family or friends or to enjoy your favourite gin at home.

The building is one of a kind and has a very interesting history. It was built in 1957 and was mostly used as a timber veneer mill. It's a great location for a delicious cocktail or a unique venue for a private event or wedding. Check out their website and make sure to follow them on their socials.

macalister's brewing Company

They have established themselves to be a great entertaining venue, perfect to see a live band, comedy show or be involved with trivia and music bingo.

They are family owned and operated and make the best, fresh local beer in Cairns. Their beers are also available for takeaway, and you can even buy kegs of your favourite beer for your private event at home.

distil on the hill

Originally from the hills of Jumrum Springs Kuranda they opened a new distillery in Smithfield.

They are family owned and operated and create their gins in their small-batch micro distillery.

They regularly have live music and the venue is great for small get togethers or to hire for private events. Check out their website and follow them on their socials.
